Sarah & Suzanne at The Elvetham, Hampshire

This was a first for me on all counts; my first female civil ceremony and my fisrt time at The Elvethem, and I throughly enjoyed the whole experience.

Suzanne and Sarah were so relaxed they made taking the shots easy combined with the stunning backdrop of  The Elvethem, it really didn’t feel like work but a brilliant day of relaxed photography. I was desperately trying to avoid the cliched shots I had seen of so many civil ceremonies and create natural looking images which portrayed the girls relationship.

Spring Sprung at Pembroke Lodge

Helen and Marc had the most beautiful day at Pembroke Lodge in Richmond Park (www.pembrokelodge.co.uk) it is one of my favourite venues, especially in Spring as it is a hotbed of colour. With Helen and Marc being so very relaxed, the day flowed without mishap, constant sunshine, lot’s of laughter and the groom even got his desired dinosaur cake!

It’s been a long time!

Well, it’s been a while since we updated our blog, apologies, so much going on!

Since “back to the rain in Berkhampsted”, we have opened a studio at our home, which saw us being busy over the Christmas period with portraits and boudoir shoots.

The year ended with four wonderful, though sometimes cold and wet weddings at some truly lovely venues, new ones – www.nutfieldpriory.co.uk – Martin & Maria had a gorgeous Winters day, frosty but sunny and big smiles to warm even the coldest heart. Two weddings at an old favourite venue www.greatfosters.co.uk – Rebecca & James had a late wedding which saw darkness and rain, whilst Jenny & Martin had a wedding which greeted them with the first snow of December – cold and stunning.

Farnham Castle http://www.farnhamcastle.co.uk/ was the truly lovely backdrop for Vicky & Robin, they even have thrones situated in the castle to give it a truly regal feel.

Our 2010 started with Jill & Jim’s glamourous, yet relaxed affair at wonderful Wentworth Golf Club www.wentworth.co.uk. The happy couple arrived at the venue in a beautiful old, cold but excellent condition baby fiat – we’re still not sure how the bride fitted her stunning gown into it!

February and March have kept us busy with the weddings of Sasha & Mark at the Royal Horseguards Hotel, London http://www.guoman.com/en/hotels/united_kingdom/london/the_royal_horseguards/index.html – Dom captured some beautiful evening shots of the happy couple by the London eye (in the rain – fair play to Sasha & Mark for being game enough to venture out into the rain!).

Talia & Terry choose The Georgia House Hotel http://www.georgianhousehotel.com/ a real gem hidden in Haslemere. Again Dom captured some great evening shots (save to say he is obsessed with his newly acquired video light and insists on taking everywhere with him). Talia & Terry were the perfect smiling couple, making our job all the more easier :)

Back to Surrey for the wedding of Sarah & Mike at The Woodlands Hotel, Cobham http://www.handpickedhotels.co.uk/hotels/Woodlands-Park/. This is a simply stylish hotel with gret attention to detail. Whilst Sarah was of course the truly stunning bride, their beautiful daughter certainly gave her a run for her money!

Back to the rain in Berkhampstead

Poor Amanda and Lee had the most awful rain throughout their wedding day, fortunately they had big beaming smiles to make up for it! Amanda is officially the latest bride, at 40 minutes she certainly kept Lee waiting. With the old fashioned z cars for their wedding transport I’m surprised they didn’t blue light their way to the church on time :)

Lovely Lythe Hill Hotel, Haslemere

Catherine and Andrew had glorious weather for their big day at the Lythe  Hill Hotel. It was initimate affair with very happy children running and rolling around in the grass giggling. So many weddings now are adults only, so it was lovely to see them enjoying themselves.

Lythe Hill is a really lovley venue, the staff were very attentive to every detail, it has beautiful gardens, pergola and a lake too – ohhhh so many photo opportunities!

Beautiful Burnham Beeches

Sonia & Andy choose a beatifully restored barn which originally formed part of a monastry dating back to 18th century for their wedding ceremony.

You get to hear a lot of readings whilst doing this job but I had never heard the lovely and very funny reading which I heard today, which bizarrely related to two hoovers! I appreciate it doesn’t sound very romantic, but it was I only wished I had paid more attention so I could have found out where it originated.

All in all a lovely day and a sunset ending too!

Dizzying Frensham Heights

Katie and Danny celebrated their wedding and reception at the private bording school of Frensham heights in Farnham. This is a new venue for me and it didn’t disappoint. With beautiful wood inlaid walls, a very unusual contemporary statue of a large rabbit (at least I think that’s what it was!) on the entrance lawn and beautifully manicured rear Katie & Dannygardens offering stunning views over Surrey.

Katie and Danny were great fun and very relaxed in their approach to the whole day, giving a wonderful party like feel of a special day to be remembered.

Wet at Hampton Court

The wet weather didn’t dampen the smiles of Claire and Sam as they celebrated their wedding reception at Hampton Court Palace!

The couple reside in Dubai but choose their home town to take their wedding vows. Undeterred by the rain we managed to get some amazing shots in and around the palace, this truly is one of my favourite wedding venues.

It was a lovely relaxed affair with the bride Claire making a humorous and loving speech to her new husband Sam before presenting him with a football top signed by all the members of his beloved Chelsea football club! Frame 4
