Natural Wedding Photography Covering Surrey, Berkshire, Hampshire, UK & Europe

Hey there, I’m Denise, a Surrey based wedding photographer. Thanks for stopping by and considering me to document your big day. I am inspired by story-telling photography, seeking those authentic moments, the emotions and expressions, preserving them in a picture to be enjoyed and relived for years to come.

My approach is friendly and relaxed, a perfect blend of documenting unscripted moments with natural and relaxed couples pictures that will reflect your genuine connection. Your wedding gallery will show how your wedding looked and felt.

I’ve travelled throughout the UK and Europe documenting weddings, elopements & engagements. Living on the borders of Surrey, Berkshire and Hampshire has given me extensive knowledge of venues within this area. I’ve been part of +600 weddings and I still get excited for each one. I can’t wait to be part of your special day, and promise to be with you 100% on your wedding adventure.

STORYTELLING wedding PHOTOGRAPHY makes my heart sing.

Your wedding day will be a collection of fleeting moments.

From a first look, a cheeky wink, a reassuring smile, tear stained cheeks, lingering hugs, embarrassing head in hands speeches, first dance kisses, crazy dancefloor moments and shots at the bar. This approach allows for a more relaxed way to document the sincere and genuine moments which can often be missed by a couple on the day.

For me there is no other style of photography that could ever come close to this rollercoaster of emotions.

More than just a photographer. Your FANTASTIC personality stood out, you made everyone feel RELAXED and captured so many NATURAL moments, you are just INCREDIBLE!

Unique Wedding Venues in Surrey

I moved to Surrey from West London in 2001 and instantly fell in love with the green spaces and beautiful woodlands, Virginia Water Lakes and Swinley Forest are particular favourites of mine, and popular locations for engagement sessions. Surrounded by tall trees, open spaces and glittering lakes, they provide a colourful backdrop and an added bonus of great coffee shops too.

Living in Surrey, I am blessed to have a diverse selection of beautiful and unique venues within an hour’s drive of my home, including an actual castle (Farnham Castle), a Royal palace (Hampton Court Palace) and a Royal hunting lodge (Great Fosters).

I can still recall the first wedding I photographed at Hampton Court Palace. It was the wedding manager, so no stress at all! It was a cold December day, it had snowed in the early hours of the morning and there was a fairground carousel on the lawn, it created a picture-perfect back drop for what was to be an amazing day. The guests were treated to Henry VIII as their toastmaster, a guided ghost tour through the Tudor halls, and the wedding breakfast was served in the Great Hall where actual Kings and Queens feasted. To be able to walk in these hallowed and historic halls is a memory that will stay with me forever.

Great Fosters is another Surrey venue with historic links. It is located in Egham to the North of Surrey and with its convenient location between Hampton Court and Windsor Palace, it became the stop off place for royalty and believed to be Henry VIII’s hunting lodge. It retains many of its original features including the ornate Tapestry room, once a dining room but now forms the bar area separating the Tithe Barn and the Orangery. This Surrey hotel has over acres of topiary gardens, a moat and a Japanese bridge, you will be spoilt for choice for picture perfect areas.

Barn Weddings in Surrey

Looking for a rustic feel to your day, fancy a “do it yourself” celebration, or a teepee to dance the night away in? Surrey is home to farms and many barns, and weirdly, vineyards (this actually surprised me).

I always enjoy working at Gate Street Barn in Guildford. They have the main barn for indoor ceremonies which has many original features, including an old carriage wheel suspended from the ceiling that creates a stunning centre piece when adorned with fresh flowers. In 2022 when the out door ceremony license laws changed, Gate Street created a romantic and enchanting woodland ceremony area, only a short distance from the main barn it is a perfect choice for couples who appreciate the beauty of nature.

And it oozes rustic appeal with wooden seating carved from tree trunks, scattered with bright coloured throws, plush cushions, and an assortment of colourful rugs creating a unique aisle feature. If you have imagined exchanging your vows underneath a canopy of trees, with dappled sunlight peeking through, and a backdrop of wildflowers and flowering shrubs, and actual cows photobombing group pictures, this could be your perfect Surrey venue.

Other fabulous Barns in Surrey you might want to consider; Bury Court Barn, Millbridge Court, Rivervale Barn, The Barn at Botley Hill, Clock Barn, Ramster Hall, Cain Manor, Gildings Barn and Loseley Park, sounds familiar? That’s because they also make the incredible Loseley Ice Cream, it tastes incredible and the only ice cream produced in Surrey.  The grounds at Loseley are expansive and split into 4 unique areas, each reflecting the flower type – The Rose Garden, or the key colour, The White Garden. You have access to all these areas and they are all equally stunning.

Things to do in Surrey

Situated in the South East of England, Surrey has easy access to 2 International airports, Heathrow and Gatwick and within the M25. It has close access to the M3 and M4 and is a short 40 drive into central London. Ideal if you have family and friends travelling from all destinations to help celebrate with you.

Whilst your family and friends are in the local Surrey area for your celebrations, there are lot’s of wonderful places to see and activities to enjoy. The Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew, Wisley Gardens and Polesden Lacey are a must for those who enjoy the flora and fauna.

For those who love sport, Surrey is home to Twickenham Stadium, the roar of the fans can be heard for miles on big game days! It also hosts concerts for some of the biggest bands, including U2 who I personally saw here.

A walk along the River Thames can take you past many quaint and picturesque Surrey towns. If you’re looking for somewhere that blends scenery and bustling restaurant and bars, then Richmond could be your place. It has regularly been voted one of the top 3 places to live in Surrey and with its expansive Royal Park with far reaching views, blend of one off boutiques sitting perfectly with high end high street brands, quiet lanes with gourmet coffee shops, and selection of restaurants serving Argentian steaks to fresh Sushi, you can certainly see why.

For those who love the thrills and spills, Surrey is home to Thorpe Park and Chessington World of Adventures – crazy rollercoaster and high speed rides will certainly get your adrenalin flowing! There are multiple Go Ape locations for zip lining adventures, hot air balloon rides to take in the views of the Surrey Hills, mountain biking, kayaking, paddle boarding, rock climbing, para gliding, and fast paced off road racing skills to be had for the petrol heads at Mercedes Benz World..
